The Saints have ruled out quarterback Derek Carr (hand), running back Alvin Kamara (groin) and center Erik McCoy (elbow) for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

The New Orleans Saints have been struggling in the absence of star quarterback Derek Carr and running back Alvin Kamara, and it turns out that is unlikely to change. According to ESPN NFL Insider, "Saints ruled out RB Alvin Kamara and QB Derek Carr for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders."

Saints QB Derek Carr has been dealing with a hand injury and was trying to return to face his former team. Here are the latest updates.

Derek Carr led the Las Vegas Raiders for nine seasons, being drafted in 2014. While the Silver and Black had two playoff appearances, it didn’t lead to consistent success and was released in 2023. Carr signed with the New Orleans Saints when he became a free agent.

If Carr isn’t able to prove he is ready to return, then it will be rookie Spencer Rattler who will get his fifth start of the season. Though the Saints have no won with Rattler at QB, including Monday becoming the only team in the NFL to be shut out.

Darren Rizzi told reporters the New Orleans Saints would take a committee approach to replacing Alvin Kamara. Rizzi laid out the plan was to use Kendre Miller, Jordan Mims and Jamaal Williams in the backfield.
