A man struck and killed Friday night by a SEPTA bus in South Philadelphia was identified by police Saturday as Michael Spooner, 35. A 29-year-old woman not named by police but described as Spooner’s wife was also struck.

A man was killed and a woman was taken to the hospital after the couple was hit by a SEPTA bus in South Philadelphia on Friday evening, officials said.

According to investigators, the couple was attempting to cross Front Street in the crosswalk when they were hit by the bus.
