Eli Lilly said on Wednesday its weight-loss drug helped nearly 99% of patients remain diabetes-free after three years of weekly injections.

Eli Lilly's tirzepatide cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes for people with pre-diabetes by 94%, according to new results from a three-year trial.

The drugmaker has received approval from the Hong Kong government to sell its tirzepatide injections — branded as Mounjaro — in a device called Kwikpen for both long-term weight management and type 2 diabetes, Eli Lilly told Bloomberg in a statement.
